A special event for couples will be held in as part of “International Education Week.” The Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) will host a date night where couples can learn about other cultures on Friday, November 20th at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

On Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th at 6p.m., BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) will host a date night where couples work together to solve a mock mystery: “The Disappearance of the Parrot Jar.”

On Saturday, September 26, BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) will participate in a statewide event called ‘Celebrate Your Museum.’ Visitors to the museum may enjoy a variety of activities on at the MPC from 1 – 3:00 that afternoon for the celebration.

On Friday, September 18th, BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) will host a “Survivor” date night to test couples’ ability to withstand challenges and test their ability to survive in the ancient world. There will be two sessions: the first at 6 and the second at 8 p.m.
Why did Hopi potters start producing bright yellow, high-fired pottery in the 1300s? Why did they begin to paint butterflies, flowers, and Kachinas on yellow pottery and the walls of kivas? On Friday, June 12, Dr. Kelley Ann Hays-Gilpin will answer these questions and others in her presentation “The Hopi Flower World in Painted Pottery: AD 1200-1700.”
