Couples will enjoy a night by the Ancient Nile at BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) during its ‘Sphinxes and Sweethearts’ Date Night on Friday, August 7th, at 7:00 p.m.
‘Sphinxes and Sweethearts’ is inspired by the wonders of Ancient Egypt. Couples will participate in several Egyptian-themed activities. These include ‘Pyramid,’ Balderdash, the Fastest Mummifier (a mummy-wrapping contest), the Matching of the Gods, and learning the craft of hieroglyphics. There will also be Egyptian-themed refreshments and prizes.
“This Date Night is a unique experience,” said Anna McKean, Promotions Assistant at the MPC. “It gives a break from the typical movie-and-popcorn type of date.”
With an interactive, hands-on look at Ancient Egyptian culture, couples at ‘Sphinxes and Sweethearts’ will learn interesting information and have an entertaining evening.
Tickets are $10 a couple and are available at the Info Desk in the Wilkinson Student Center (WSC) beginning August 3rd. The date night will be held at the MPC which is located on 700 North 100 East. For more information call 801.422.0020 or visit mpc.byu.edu.
